Located along White Pole Road (County G30) east of Anita, this small deck girder bridge crosses a branch of Turkey Creek.
Built in 1912, this bridge consists of a short twinned deck girder. Twinned deck girders were commonly used for shorter spans, as they allowed a bridge to use thinner girders. The resulting beam pattern is a four beam set. The bridge sits on concrete substructures.
Girder bridges like this were common to cross small streams and rivers. This girder is a standardized design.
Overall, the bridge appears to be in good condition, and was well maintained in the Rock Island days.
The author has ranked this bridge as locally significant, due to the common design.
